Carbon Reduction Label
Planet Ark and the Carbon Trust have launched the Carbon Reduction Label in Australia. Planet Ark is working with businesses wanting to undertake carbon footprinting and labelling of their products
The Carbon Reduction Label was developed by the Carbon Trust in the UK and has appeared since its launch in March 2007 on more than 2,500 individual product lines. The Carbon Trust has worked with internationally recognised brands including PepsiCo (Tropicana, Walkers and Quaker), Tesco, Coca Cola, Danone, and Kimberly Clark as well as many local brands. For further details on these and other Carbon Reduction Label participants, please visit our Case Studies.
The Carbon Reduction Label helps companies communicate the impact of their product carbon footprinting work to consumers. The carbon footprint of a product or service is the total carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases emitted during its life, from production to final disposal.
Companies that display the Carbon Reduction Label are making a commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of their product or service. The Carbon Reduction Label is the leading way to communicate a product carbon footprint anywhere in the world.
The Carbon Trust is expanding the international operation of the Carbon Reduction Label with the latest additions being the USA and now Australia, in partnership with Planet Ark.
